Tell me Something, an educational hybrid genre, using a drama and magazine format, targeted at our Tweens (8 – 12 year olds) audience. The program aims to create and provide a space where Tweens can verbalise their world, develop communication and critical thinking skills, allow current issues affecting Tweens to be discussed on a national platform, as well as provide entertainment and positive role models for Tweens.

The main aim of the series is to highlight issues that concern Tweens, and through a series of scenarios and discussions, amongst the Tweens bring about possible options which they can apply to their realities as solutions. By providing various possible options and allowing the Tweens to choose for themselves what solution they feel best applies to their situations, the show avoids taking an absolutist approach, which is often the approach taken by all other sources of information for this age group. It is a method that has proven its ineffectiveness as it merely talks at Tweens instead of talking to them.

The approach that will be used by this show allows for tweens to develop and build critical thinking and communication skills, strong morals and self confidence.
