SABC 2 PRESENTS THIRD SEASON OF LOCAL POLICE DRAMA: ZERO TOLERANCE

The third series of popular local police drama Zero Tolerance is set to burst onto SABC 2 screens from Friday 7 April 2006 at 21:00. Each hour-long episode boasts a star-studded cast, brilliant acting and a riveting storyline.

In the new season, Hilton Du Bois (Terence Bridgett) takes over as head of the Zero Tolerance 3 Unit. Newcomers to the Unit, Emma Mokgotsi (Nthati Moshesh) and feisty Hannalie de Kock (Sandra Vaughn) join long-time detectives Sakkie Bezuidenhout (Ben Kruger) and Simiso Mtshali (Meshack Mavuso) in their mission to fight crime.

Says Ed Worster Head of SABC 2 programming: “Once again, we are proud to present this exceptional local programme to our viewers. The fact that Zero Tolerance 1 and 2 were so popular with the audience reflects the quality of this show. The production represents South Africa, so the stories will appeal to South Africans.”

Zero Tolerance 3 director Hilary Blecher states: “The difference between the third season of Zero Tolerance and the previous two is that the interest of the series is no longer confined to South Africa, it now includes our country’s relationship with bordering neighbours.” Another variation is that all but four episodes each have a self-contained story, which can be watched independently. These four episodes will be re-edited into two full-length television films called “Beat Out The Devil” and “Legacy”.”

The first episode entitled “The Cure” sets the tone for this gripping investigative series. A Unabomber is killing members of the public including a valued member of the Zero Tolerance Unit. The bomber’s motives seem political and the Unit tries to ascertain whether this is a right or left wing attacker.
